Increased Business Opportunities (large or small)

The internet has helped businesses both large and small to communicate with their customer on a much larger scale as it allows the business to keep in touch with their customers regularly through emails notifying them of any deals or special offers that are available to them and can also let customers know of new products through the use of internet sites and social networking sites to promote themselves and their sales. The business can also open themselves up for a new group of customers who would not otherwise be able to access or be able to travel to their stores if they're a big company and if they're a smaller business it helps them to expand due to widening their range of customers from a local small business just providing for that town and allowing people from all over the country or possibly the world to purchase their products as well as being able to promote themselves on a much larger scale. Being online can also lead to a lot more publicity purely from customers as they can tell their friends to go check out the website rather than telling them to have to go to the shop of the business which they may not be able to do and may deter them from the business.

  1. I agree with this but the unemployment sector is on the rise. this is largely due to the fact that there is a increase of business opportunities.

  2. There are many opportunities online for businesses, but the way people communicate in the future will eventually be completely virtual, this is generating a lot of laziness and lack of effort towards certain events. Do you think this is more of a good or bad thing?

  3. The internet has also enabled some sites to create physical stores due to popularity online. Internet shopping sites like Wickes have been able to open over 100 stores due to a previous active online presence.

  4. Bear in mind how enabling internet shopping can bring companies down if they don't have enough capital to retain it, like Arbon and Watts.

  5. As good as starting a business online and moving into a physical business is it can also mean that there are a loss of jobs and can cause some companies and businesses to shut down because their business is being taken by those online. So I do here with you all and I think most people would agree that the unemployment is a massive negative to the increased business opportunities online.
